Competition Overview
The Pitch Point is an exciting entrepreneurship competition where Grade 10 and 11 students pitch their innovative business ideas to a panel of industry professionals. The final event will take place at Fanshawe College’s Innovation Village on June 3, 2025.
Competition Rules
Eligibility

Open to Grade 10 and 11 students in participating entrepreneurship classes in Thames Valley District School Board entrepreneurship classes.

Each team must submit a 2-minute video pitch for the preliminary round.

The concept does not need to be a brand-new idea.

While the potential for monetization should exist, the concept might not make money to start.

The deadline to submit to your teacher is April 8, 2025.

The deadline for teachers to submit to Fanshawe for preliminary judging is April 9, 2025.
Pitch Guidelines
Event Schedule – June 3, 2025, 9AM-1:30PM
📍 Location: Fanshawe College’s Innovation Village, Village Square
Judging Criteria
Preliminary judges will evaluate video pitches using the following criteria:
1 - Is the product or service innovative? (10 points)
2 - Is the need for this product or service to be met clearly identified? (10 points)
3 - Is the target market clearly defined? (10 points)
4 - Does the product/service provide a societal benefit? (10 points)
5 - Based on the pitch, would you buy or invest in the venture? (10 points)
6 - Is the information creatively and effectively communicated? (10 points)
Final judges will evaluate live pitches using the following criteria:
1 - The team effectively presented the required content in an organized, professional and engaging way. The team was well prepared. (10 pts)
2 - The venture is innovative and solves a problem/meets a need for the target market. (10 pts)
3 - The venture has the potential for long-term success. (10 pts)
4 - The team successfully addressed the questions asked by the judges. (10 pts)
5 - The team provided bonus materials to enhance their pitch (e.g. working prototype, detailed financial information, marketing materials, etc.) (10 pts)
